What’s New These Days?
INCOMING! AND FREE SKEINS: Now that the holiday/new year rush is over, we will be reordering on some of our customer favorites. In March and April, we anticipate receiving in new inventory from the following vendors: Hedgehog Fibres, Manos del Uruguay, Western Sky Knits, Cascade Yarns, Plymouth Yarn, madelinetosh, Malabrigo (always Malabrigo!). As always, we are happy to submit a custom order for you with any of our vendors…even better if it can be part of a routine order. Keep in mind that most yarns come in bags of (10) skeins, and you will always receive the 10th skein free when making a single purchase of yarn with us of (10) skeins or more (even for custom orders). Please ask an associate for further details.
MAGIC LOOP SOCK CLASS: We hope to teach a socks class (three sessions, beginning in May) that focuses on the super quick, super efficient Magic Loop technique…please give us a call to add your name to the interest list, and we will schedule it as soon as we have 4 or more students.
KIRIKI EMBROIDERY KITS: Really C-U-T-E little doll/mascot embroidery kits from indie designer Kiriki Press. As an introductory promo, we are offering all customers a FREE 6″ embroidery hoop with the purchase of (2) kits. All levels/abilities are offered…this is a great low risk, high reward way to get in to embroidery.
TOFT: A new shipment of the ever-so-popular crochet critter kits has arrived. With easy-to-follow instructions and all the materials needed to create a new best friend (tuxedo cat, Poodle, Llama, or even a Venus Fly Trap!), this makes a wonderful gift to wrap up and present to the fiber artist in your life. With three different skill levels, you’re sure to find either a mini or full-sized pal that will undoubtedly delight.
ITO YARNS, GMBH: Also in: Reorder of our popular Ito Luxury yarns “Sensai” mohair and Osaka shawl kits. The Sensai yarn is incredibly soft, and with a higher silk content than the typical mohair/silk blends, it is luxuriously soft to the touch and a real delight to work with. For those of you missing Habu Textiles and Shibui yarns and patterns as much as we are, we invite you to sample Ito yarns, and hope that you’ll discover a new favorite! Ito is a German company with Japanese design sensibilities…what’s not to like? We have created a custom color scheme (our most popular one, I’m happy to report) just for our customers. Next Steps in Knitting or Crochet Classes: We are well known for our free Intro to Knitting and Intro to Crochet classes, but did you know that we also offer Next Steps classes in both so that you can take your skills to the next level? These classes will always be offered on Saturdays, and we hope to schedule both in April or May. Please give us a call to add your name to the list next time we schedule this fun and affordable class!
